Sahra DeRoy

Hello, my name is Sahra.  I'm the studio owner and lead instructor.  Dance has always been a passion for me. With over 20 years of experience in dance instruction and performance, I aim to share this joy with you!

I love teaching.  In my classes, I provide students opportunities for self-growth through dance in an encouraging supportive environment. Students will learn the fundamentals for a comprehensive belly dance toolkit.

For the past 14 years I've been studying with world renowned  belly dancer Rachel Brice and am an 8 Elements Certified Datura Style Teacher ®.  My passion for wellness led me to  complete Schoolhouse Yoga's 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2014.  In 2019, I took the fitness plunge and am now an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Group Fitness Instructor.

I enjoy traveling and combining travel with dance!  I've performed at events throughout the country and beyond, including Buffalo, NY; Golden, CO; Morgantown, WV; Cleveland, OH; Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA, Las Vegas, NV and multiple times in Toronto, CA .  I had the honor of performing in Kami Liddle’s Expansion (2015, 2016), The Lavish Project, 2015, and the Tribal Massive FISSION show as both a soloist and as part of Amy Sigil’s performance intensive in 2019. I recently had the honor of being cast in Jillina's Bellydance Evolution meets Mega Massive, Alice in Wonderland production, as well as Jillina's Bellydance Evolution Experience Wizard of Oz production in 2023. Throughout my dance journey I've collaborated with local artists on projects large and small. I look forward to more possibilities!

Hi my name is Kristin but you may know me as Morgiana.  I am a multi-faceted dancer, performer, and instructor who discovered the joy of Belly Dancing in 2002 and have been sharing it with others ever since.  A certified group exercise instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), I have taught classes in Belly Dance, Resistance Band Training, Zumba and more throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area since 2004.

In 2008, I joined my love of belly dance with my first love, theatre, to form Moquette Volante Storytelling and Dance, which reconnects modern audiences to traditional folklore through a combination of dance and spoken word storytelling.  You can check out more information at www.moquettevolante.org.

I’m thrilled to be joining the Mosaic team as a guest instructor, occasionally subbing belly dance fitness classes as well as offering specialty workshops that include dancing on goblets and storytelling through dance.
