February Classes

Greetings dancers and friends! I have some exciting news to share. I've been sitting on this for a while. I will be going to Las Vegas to perform at the Mega Massive in Jillina Carlano's BDEx production of Alice in Wonderland this March! This has been a dream of mine and am thrilled it's finally happening! In order to prepare for the show, I am curtailing the class schedule for February and March. We'll still have classes Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. See you at the studio!

Sunday Classes

Belly Dance 101 Sundays, January 8th - February 26th 12:30PM-1:30PM


Always wanted to try belly dance? In this series learn belly dance from the ground up. Specifically designed for beginners, you’ll learn the fundamentals of this rich dance form.This class will introduce you to various belly dance styles including Egyptian, Turkish, and fusion styles. Learn belly dance fundamentals, technique, history, music, and props. All levels welcome! Drop-ins welcome. No refunds unless class is canceled by instructor. Masks are required. Tuesday Classes

February 7 - March 7, 2023 (5 week session)

$75 for 1 session/$140 for 2 sessions

$20 drop-in

Belly Dance Level 1: 7:00-7:50PM

Join in on the fun and belly dance with us! Learn the fundamentals of classic belly dance style while enjoying an engaging movement experience. Each class you will be introduced to basic isolations, steps, combinations, and short routines. Discussion of history and styles of belly dance will be referenced. This class is perfect for beginners or those wishing to refine their technique. Class starts with a cardio warm-up and ends with a yoga cool down. Wear comfortable clothes such as yoga pants and a t-shirt and bring a water bottle. No refunds unless session is canceled by instructor. Opportunities to make up missed classes will be available! Cash, check, or PayPal accepted.


Belly Dance Level 2 Choreography: 8:00-8:50PM

Level 2 builds on material learned in previous classes. Students will learn more complex belly dance technique. This session, students will learn a fun veil choreography to the classic song Ah Ya Zein. Combinations will be drilled along with transitions, dance expression, and stagecraft. Class starts with a cardio warm-up and ends with a yoga cool down. 1 Year of belly dance classes is recommended. No refunds unless class is canceled by instructor.


Masks are required in the studio.

Cost is $75 for 1 session/$140 for both Tuesday classes. Drop-ins are $20

Datura Style Belly Dance 3/4 Shimmy Study


Want to master those 3/4 shimmies? Learn the 3/4 shimmy from Datura Style Certified instructor Sahra DeRoy. Get in person feedback and dig deep into this technique.


The 3/4 Shimmy Study was created to help you develop clean, precise, and big 3/4 hip shimmies. The Study consists of: Isolations and combinations, which include the Ghawazee-Inspired shimmy, the Overshimmy, the Hagallah-Inspired shimmy, and the Samiha. You will also practice the Wave-Step Shimmy, the Kitty-Push, and more!

Datura Style™ Belly Dance is a fusion belly dance style founded by world renowned dancer, Rachel Brice. Based on Rachel Brice’s 8 Elements Approach to belly dance. Always wanted to try this style of dance? Now's your chance! No refunds unless class is canceled by instructor.

Workshops

Mindful Flow Yoga Workshop Sunday, March 5th at 4:00PM $25 in advance/$30 at the door



Enjoy a gentle vinyasa flow style class. This workshop includes energizing sun salutes, a variety of standing poses, long stretches, breath work and relaxation. Awareness will be brought to breath and intention throughout the practice. We'll end with a body scan to deeply relax. This class is suitable for all levels. Students should bring their own mats. Masks are still required at the studio.
