This drumming workshop is for anyone who wants to feel more confident playing Middle Eastern rhythms. From drum circles to haflas there are many opportunities for you to play along.  Dancers will love focusing on the rhythms and come away with a deeper understanding of the music that inspires their movement.

We will walk through a few of the most common beats preferred by dancers, practice taking turns with simple solos, and dive into more complex rhythms once we are warmed up.   

The day will wrap up with an improv jam that will let us experiment with what we have learned. 

There will be light refreshments. Loaner Drums available by request.
